Scott Boleyn Scott Boleyn

Scott Boleyn is a 1998 graduate of Dubuque Senior High School.

Scott was a 3-sport athlete at Dubuque Senior HS; track & field, basketball, and football.  An all-conference athlete in multiple sports, Scott excelled on the football field.  Following his senior year, Scott had broken 6 different school records for football.  He was All-conference, All-area, 2nd team All-state (INA), and selected to compete in the Iowa shrine bowl.

Following graduation from Dubuque Senior, Scott attended the University of Iowa and was a walk-on player for the Hawks.  He earned several awards for his tenacity and hustle. He was a member of the Big 10 Champion and Orange Bowl squad in 2003.

Scott currently resides in Henderson, Nevada and has been active in the business world and has served as a mediator / arbitrator for the state of Nevada justice courts.

David Brauer David Brauer

David Brauer is a 1978 graduate of Dubuque Senior HS.

David was a 4-sport athlete for the Rams, earning major letters in Football, Basketball, Track & Field, and Baseball.  David was a member of the National Honor Society and was the Male Athlete of the Year in 1977-78.   David earned All-Conference and State accolades during his career, including qualifying for the Drake Relays and IHSAA State Track & Field meets.  He was a part of 2-state qualifying teams with Basketball and Baseball in 1977.

David competed on Fastpitch Softball teams following his high school days and earning his college degrees.  Playing throughout the Western United States in regional and national tournaments.

David earned degrees from Metropolitan State College (Denver) and the University of Denver College of Law.

Marni Chandlee Marni Chandlee

Marni Chandlee is a 1998 graduate of Dubuque Senior HS.

Marni was a 4-sport standout for Dubuque Senior High School, earning 11 Major D’s during her high school career in Cross Country, Basketball, Tennis, and Softball.

She was a part of 3 state qualifying Cross Country teams (96-97-98), and state qualifier in Tennis.  Marni was a Scholar Athlete award winner and the Female Athlete of the Year in 1997-98.  Marni participated in 2 different All-Star games for Women’s Basketball, including the Dr. Pepper All-Star game.

Following graduation, Marni attended Cornell College and was a 4-year starter and held several records and near the top in others for Cornell College.  She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Marni currently works and resides in the Dubuque area.  She currently works in the retirement services industry and was formerly a teacher in the Dubuque CSD until 2014.

Erin Strub Halchak Erin Strub Halchak

Erin Strub Halchak is a 1999 graduate of Dubuque Senior HS.

Erin Strub excelled in both Swimming and Track & Field for the Rams during her high school career at Dubuque Senior High School.  Erin won 3 individual state titles in swimming, held 5 school records, and help guide the team to consecutive state runner-up trophies.

Erin’s success in Track & Field was very good as well.  Holding 3 school records at the time, top 10 career point leader at graduation, and qualified both the Drake Relays and IGHSAU State meets.

Following graduation, Erin attended the University of Iowa on a swim scholarship.  She placed in the top 10 in three different events at the Big Ten meet during her career.

Following graduation, Erin first worked in the Chicago area, before moving to the Denver, Colorado area.  She currently resides in Denver and works as an underwriter manager. 

Mike Wulfekuhle Mike Wulfekuhle

Mike Wulfekuhle is a former teacher and coach at Dubuque Senior High School.  He gave 39 years to the Dubuque Community School District before retiring in 2019 from Dubuque Senior High School.

Mike Wulfekuhle was a graduate of Fayette High School in 1975.  He was a 4-sport athlete, participating in Football, Basketball, Track & Field, and Baseball.   Following graduation, he attended Loras College and played football for the Duhawks; he earned a degree in Secondary Education and History, along with a coaching endorsement.

To Mike, his family was everything, but the students and athletes were a close second.  Mike coached basketball, football, and baseball for the Rams.

Mike impacted the lives of athletes and students by helping to foster grit, character, passion, and teamwork.

Mike passed away in 2020 after a 5-year battle with cancer.  His legacy is without question as students and athletes continue to honor his memory in tributes, articles, songs with each other and his family.

Peter Gruben Peter Gruben

Peter Gruben is a 1986 graduate of Dubuque Senior HS.

Peter excelled as a swimmer for Dubuque Senior High School.  He was a 12-time All-State performer.  He was state champion in consecutive years (85-86) in the Backstroke event, and was a member of the 200y-Medley Relay in 1984.

Peter was also a 4-year member of the Football team, Dubuque Senior HS Choir, and a 4-year participant in the school musicals during his high school days.  Peter was the 1985-86 Male Athlete of the Year, was a member of National Honor Society, a National Merit Scholar, and State of Iowa Scholar.

Peter attended the University of Illinois and swam for the Illini for 4 years.  He was a 4-time letter winner and earned All-Big Ten Academic awards all 4 years.

Following graduation from Illinois (BA-1991) and DePaul (MBA-2000), Peter has worked in the Finance and Investment world.
